Oral Hygiene

Good Oral Hygiene, of course, begins with you. Regular brushing, flossing, and a healthy diet are basic to oral health but that does not mean all sweets are out! Moderation is the key. When in doubt, your hygienist, can be counted on to give you excellent advise that is geared to your particular situation or condition. Have a question, just ask your hygienist. She is here to help you.

  • We have a great team of Dental Hygienists truly dedicated to keeping your teeth and gums healthy for a lifetime. They are trained and certified professionals who are able to perform a host of dental services including:
  • Cleanings (also called Prophylaxis)
  • Deep Cleanings (removal of hardened plaque or tartar)
  • Periodontal Charting
  • Oral Cancer Screenings
  • Digital X-Rays
  • Dental Sealants
  • Fluoride Treatments
  • Oral Hygiene Education & product recommendations
  • Applying desensitizing agents

What good dental health seeks to avoid are the conditions that can lead, not only to cavities, but also to Periodontal Disease, or what is commonly called gum disease. These conditions result from many factors but the most common is the accumulation of plaque or tartar on the teeth, especially at the gum-line or below. Please see our section on Periodontal (gum) disease.
